Delta Corporation to Open New World Class Resort Close to Mumbai as their Expansion Plans Continue Apace

Next year will see the opening of the first world class Indian casino resort outside of Goa, as Delta Corporation open the doors at their new casino in Daman, close to Mumbai. The new casino will have 60,000 square feet of gambling space as well as a 187 room hotel, as India continue their tourism push. The casino has been built after changes to Indian gambling laws allowed casinos outside of the Goa region.

Delta Corporation already operates three offshore floating casinos close to the Goan coast, and company chairman Jaydev Modi hopes that the casino will help open up new markets for the firm, especially in the neighboring region of Sikkim and nearby countries such as Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Indeed, this piece of gambling news comes hot on the heels of news that Delta have bought land to build a new casino resort in Sri Lanka too. “We have already acquired property for the casino resort in Sri Lanka and the company is exploring the emerging Sri Lankan gaming market which his poised for rapid growth,” Modi said.

While there are no regulated online casinos in India, gamblers can access any one of many foreign based websites catering to Indian gamblers. As such, much of the land-based market is losing potential customers to foreign companies. Instead of targeting Indian gamblers, however, companies such as Delta are more interested in the lucrative casino tourism industry.

With Asia seen as the next up and coming region for casino gambling, there are a number of projects underway to boost casino numbers in the region. As such, Russia have already agreed to the building of a new casino near Vladivostok in the Primorye region, while Japan is looking to create at least one new casino before the 2020 Olympics. Singapore, the Philippines, and Australia are all also building new casinos as the regions gambling really takes off.
