Along with the Premier League and Champions League, the FA Cup is the third major domestic trophy in England. The tournament brings English teams from different tiers and leagues to play in a single tournament. In this season, the quarter-final provided some exciting matchups, but the most exciting one is Leicester City v Chelsea. The Leicester City v Chelsea betting predictions show that no team is a clear favorite to progress to the next stage.

Leicester City and Chelsea Are having a Good Season

Leicester City have previously shocked the world after winning the 2015/2016 premier league title. In this season, however, it is highly unlikely a surprise of that magnitude to happen. Under head coach Brendan Rodgers, the foxes currently sit 3rd in the league table with 53 points after 29 matches played. In addition to the excellent performance in the Premier League, Leicester managed to qualify for the FA Cup quarter-final after beating Birmingham City 1-0. In the quarter-final, they will face Chelsea who are also performing well under new head coach Frank Lampard. The Leicester City v Chelsea betting predictions for the team to qualify are very close. Chelsea are competing with Leicester for the 3rd place in the league as they are only five points behind them. Also, The Blues qualified to the final eight after an outstanding performance against the league leaders Liverpool.  The match will be played on Leicester’s home ground, King Power Stadium. Both teams will come into this game not in their best form. Leicester won two of their last six matches, while Chelsea won three of their last six. Therefore, it will be interesting to see those two teams clash as betting predictions say it will be a close match.

Leicester City v Chelsea Betting Predictions in the FA Cup

Both teams are out of the league title race, and Chelsea are on the verge of crashing out of the champions league. Therefore, their only hope of ending the season with a title is the FA Cup, so expect both managers to depend on their best players. Leicester are placing their hopes on their star Jamie Vardy. The English striker is in form this season and is on top of the league’s goal scorers with 19 goals. On the other hand, Lampard’s side will be depending on the young and talented Tammy Abraham who score 13 goals in the league.  In the FA Cup, history is on Chelsea’s side. The blues managed to progress every time they faced the foxes in this competition. The most recent faceoff was two seasons ago in the quarter-final. Chelsea beat Leicester after extra time at the King Power stadium thanks to the goals of Morata and Pedro, and the Blues went on to lift the trophy. Also, two teams played in the quarter-final in 2012. Chelsea won 5-2 at home and went on to win the title again! In this season, the Leicester City v Chelsea betting predictions in the online sportsbook site in the UK are close as a game could be. Betting odds for the foxes to qualify on KTO are 2.60, while odds of The Blues qualifying are 2.65. Will history repeat itself again? Or do Rodgers’ men have a different opinion?
