We’ll explore some of the additional games that will be played this weekend in matchday 22 of Ligue 1 which should give you a well-rounded preview.

In part I we looked at some of the matches that carry a certain degree of risk but are also very lucrative if punters manage to place the correct bets. The games that will be featured in part II are no exception as they all can be used to make a great deal of money. According to French gambling news, Montpellier will face Nantes at home where they will try to do everything within their might to earn the 3 points.

• Montpellier set for a test against Nantes
• Lens will go up against Reims away
• PSG will have to beat St. Etienne to make progress
And then on Sunday Reims will go head to head against Lens at home while Rennes will play against Caen at home which will help them to seal a win. PSG will visit St. Etienne in an attempt to re-clinch their top spot in the league as they are now in 3rd place.

Montpellier vs Nantes and Reims vs Lens

Montpellier are currently in 6th place with 32 points from 21 games so far. On some previous occasions they have managed to perform quite splendidly and even surprised their opwn fans by the way they handled themselves when they were under pressure to perform well against better sides. For this reason they have notched 6 wins, but were not so fortunate at other times as they also lost 3 times and drew twice while playing at home.

Their next opponents Nantes are not so far behind them. They find themselves 2 places down the table in 8th position with 31 points. They have sealed 4 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses while playing on the road which is why Bet365 has ranked them as underdogs 3.40 (12/5). Montpellier have been dealt preferential chances 2.30 (13/10) as they will be playing at home. A draw between them stands at 3.10 (21/10), however that event does not seem likely.

Reims will host Lens on Sunday but judging by difference between the two teams the hosts should find it relatively easy to overcome their opponents. The home side have a home record of 6 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses while the visiting club has only managed to seal 2 wins, 2 draws and a staggering 7 losses while playing away from home.

Online sportsbooks in Frances are all vying for Reims to pull off a win considering their better standing in the league (11th place). Lens on the other hand are 19th in Ligue 1 and are struggling to climb out of the relegation zone. Bet365 has given the hosts odds of 2.30 (13/10), while the visiting side have been given unfavorable chances 3.30 (23/10).

Rennes vs Caen and ST. Etienne vs PSG

Caen will face Rennes away, however looking at their recent performances they are set to endure another very difficult challenge against a team that is in a far better shape than they are. Rennes, who will be the hosts, are 9th in the league with 30 points and maintain a home record of 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses.

Caen are a completely different story as they are last in the competition with a dire away record (2 wins, 4 draws and 5 losses). Considering all the aspect involved with the upcoming clash between the two sides, it is obvious that Bet365 would support the hosts for the win 2.00 (1/1), while the most Caen can hope for is a draw which stands at 3.30 (23/10).

St. Etienne will play against the powerful PSG who are looking to get back to their winnings ways after slipping in the table behind Lyon and Marseille. Laurent Blanc’s men maintain an impressive and undefeated home record, however while playing on the road the results are somewhat different (4 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses).

St. Etienne are located just one place behind Les Parisiens (4th spot) thanks to accumulating 40 points so far. At home they have recorded 6 wins, 3 draws and only a single loss, while also scoring 14 goals and only letting in 4 from the opposition. However, despite boasting decent results at home they have been branded as underdogs 3.60 (13/5) for this encounter. As per French gambling laws, Bet365 believes that PSG will win this game 2.10 (11/10).
