  • Lyon vs Bayern Munich on Wednesday night in the second CL semi-final
  • Bayern knocked out Barcelona with an 8-2 win, Lyon won against Man City 3-1
  • The Germans are the top favourites of the tie
Olympique Lyon will meet Bayern Munich on Wednesday night in the second semi-final of the Champions League. After the Germans destroyed Barcelona in the quarter-final with a top performance, they are huge favourites to get to the final. Even though Lyon knocked out Manchester City, their chances are very small for another surprise in the Lyon vs Bayern odds.  The two teams met in the same place 10 years ago, in the semi-final of the 2009-10 Champions League season. Bayern won both games and finished with 4-0 on aggregate. This was the only time Lyon managed to reach the last four in the Champions or Europa League so surely will try to take revenge now. But after Bayern’s glorious performance against Barcelona, the chances of the French side are very small.  Even though they also played well and surprised favourites Manchester City in the quarter-final. After getting the lead, they only received the equaliser in the second half thanks to their great defending work.  And when everyone thought City would have the game now, Lyon re-take the lead again with the goal of Moussa Dembele. The French striker could score again following Edmilson’s error and got his team to the semi-final.

Lyon vs Bayern odds predict an easy game for Bayern

In spite of their great performance, Lyon are the real underdogs against Bayern. Their odds to win the game is 12.00 while Bayern’s odds are only 1.20 at Bet365. Of course, it’s hard to argue that the German champions look invincible after crashing Barcelona 8-2. They haven’t been beaten since last December. They won 27 out of their last 28 games played in the Bundesliga, German Cup and the Champions League. The one game which they didn’t win was a draw in February  against RB Leipzig, the other semi-finalists. Since then Bayern have been in top form, winning 19 games and scoring 69 goals. Football, Soccer, Corner, Ball, Sport, Ball Sports No wonder online sportsbooks in Germany are expecting a game with lots of goals. The odds for 3 or more goals is 1.33. While the most likely winning margin is only one goal with the odds of 3.75, a much bigger difference can also happen. The odds of Bayern having a 4 or more goal margin at the end is 4.00. Robert Lewandowski is the biggest favourite to score first in the game (2.50)  ahead of his teammate Serge Gnabry (4.75). The Polish striker was struggling a bit against Barcelona and could only find the net in the 82nd minute, but we can’t argue with his statistics. 54 goals this season out of 45 games, 14 in the Champions League, scoring on all of his eight games.

Other options to bet on

French fans will hope that Lyon will have a solid defense again with some counter-attacks after a good block. This was their strategy against City which was successful at the end. Bookmakers in the Lyon vs Bayern odds also offer a chance to bet on the number of cards and the first player to get it. Well, it’s very likely to be a Lyon player.  The four Brazilian defenders are predicted to be the first one with the odds of 10.00. As Antonio Marcelo and Fernando Marcel are expected to start again, they are the No1 candidates for that.  Back to the goalscorers, from the French forwards Moussa Dembele has the smallest odds (4.33) to score from his team. Even though his teammate and former Manchester United player Memphis Depay has scored the most, 6 goals in the CL this season. He is likely to start again unlike Dembele, so he might have a bigger chance to score first. His odds are 5.00 to do so.
