The “anti-Oscars” is coming soon, so it’s the right time to look through the Razzies Worst Picture odds. This year, five bad films are nominated for the Golden Raspberry Awards, but the winner seems to be very predictable.
The Redeemer Award will definitely be the most pleasant moment at the upcoming Razzies ceremony. The other nominations will traditionally praise the worst movies, actors, and actresses of the year. Here is the list of films that 2020 Golden Raspberry chose for its shortlist:
- The Fanatic
- The Haunting of Sharon Tate
- A Madea Family Funeral
- Rambo: Last Blood
The Razzies ceremony will take place on March 14, however, we can already name the winner. Can you guess the worst film of the last year before looking at the odds? If yes, make sure you’ve bet on it at Bovada Sportsbook. If not, here is our guide through the Razzies Worst Picture odds.
Rambo: Last Blood is nominated for the Razzies
It seems that Sylvester Stallone does everything to hold the record of the Razzies’ most-nominated actor. There is simply any other explanation why he stars in Rambo: Last Blood. The fifth film of the Rambo franchise received negative reviews from critics and viewers. Its ratings on Rotten Tomatoes are 27%, while the audience’s average response is 6.2/10. No wonder that Last Blood received 8 Golden Raspberry nominations, including the Worst Picture one.
Online gambling sites in the US evaluate the chances of Rambo to win the award by 13.00 odds. The movie could be the favorite of the “anti-Oscars” race if there were no other films, which managed to overcome it by bad reviews.
The Fanatic is a runner-up to win the “anti-Oscars”
Another movie starring a famous actor is a nominee for the 2020 Golden Raspberry Awards. John Travolta’s decision to sign up for The Fanatic brought him 16th and 17th Razzies nominations as the Worst Actor & Screen Combo. The movie itself got 4 nominations, including the Worst Picture. The odds of 8.50 show that The Fanatic has pretty high chances to win, which is based on its low ratings too. For example, the IMDB rating of the film is 4.9/10, while the one on the Rotten Tomatoes is just 17%. However, this poor thriller isn’t the leader at the sportsbooks in the US. Can you guess what picture is an absolute favorite for the 2020 Razzies?
The Razzies Worst Picture odds choose Cats
What else could it be? Tom Hooper’s Cats broke all possible anti-records this winter. Factually, the film started receiving negative reviews after the first trailer was out. It was impossible to take the bad CGI and almost-naked actors seriously, but producers decided not to waste money on editing (like Sonic did). So, they had it coming.
Cats bombed in the box-office, having grossed $73 million on a budget as high as $100 million. The film received one of the worst critical responses ever (2.8 at IMDB, 20% at Rotten Tomatoes) and was nominated in 9 categories for the Razzies, including the major one. The film tops the list of the most possible winners with 1.09 odds. If it takes one, Tom Hooper will join the list of both Oscar and Razzie winners.
