With just over a week until the Six Nations odds are you’re mulling over where to wager your cash on the opening trio of games and, with far more options than just winners and losers to choose from, we take a look at some of the other bets you can make as the teams ready themselves for the off.

The knee-jerk reaction to the Six Nations getting underway will be to pick the winners from each match, eat whatever Six Nations Odds the bookies are giving and take your wins or losses on the chin. However that’s a tad limp wristed these days as the internet renders loads more options for the canny gambler who likes to bet on sports in the UK to get stuck into.

With the French taking on Italy at the Stade de France, Scotland playing England at Murrayfield and the Irish and Welsh matched up at the Aviva Stadium it’s all set to be an explosive start to this year’s Six Nations. Sites like Bwin provide a massive array of of potential bets, and some superb Six Nations odds which go beyond just who’ll walk off the pitch victorious so lets delve in and see what odds we can dig up that might improve your bankroll this February as the eggchasers battle it out.

Check Out Bwin’s Six Nations Odds On First Team To Score

Well for a burst of excitement right from the off there’s the Six Nations odds on who’ll score first in a particular game, no, not specific players, that’s just being silly, but which team will open the scoring provides some interesting opportunities. Scotland getting first blood in their bout with England is a good one, and with Bwin giving that 2.00 it is definitely worth a punt, as perhaps are Wales to score first against Ireland at the same odds.

Team To Score Last

Italy 2.55
England 1.72
Wales 2.00

If you prefer a slightly slower burning experience I’m gambling news of the winning margin book at Bwin is going to perk you up. It’s offering some lovely Six Nations odds on the final score difference. Guy Noves’ France to beat Italy by 6-10 points at 8.00 is exceedingly tempting, but can the Italians under Jacques Brunel really hold the French to so low a difference? It’s hard to see how, so perhaps that 16-20 point difference at 5.50 is more attractive.

Winning Margins At Bwin

France by 11-15 7.50
Scotland by 6-10 8.00
Wales by 1-5 6.00

The England/Scotland game is slightly harder to call, the Scots tragic exit from the World Cup galvanizing their spirit under Vern Cotter, but an England win by a 11-15 point margin is getting 7.50 at Bwin  and that’s hard to snub as their new coach Eddie Jones takes the team by the scruff of the neck. This is especially true as the Ireland/Wales game is almost a complete crapshoot in terms of Six Nations odds, but Ireland by 6-10 isn’t beyond the realms of the imagination and at 6.00 it isn’t a bad bet at all.

Odds Or Even Six Nations Odds At Bwin

Six Nations Odds

England 2.60
Ireland or Wales 4.00
France 6.00
Scotland 13.00
Italy 301.00

Of course if you’re more apt towards the novelty side of betting and aren’t pursuing the very best of Six Nations odds having skimmed through the reams of information about each team, there’s the old favorite of predicting whether the scoreline is odd or even at the final whistle, and with each game getting 1.91 for each side it might not be the most profitable, but it’ll keep it interesting, right?

Beyond the individual games, of course, there’s the whole vexed issue of who’ll win the tournament and with Bwin offering 2.60 on England I’m expecting large numbers of fans to take advantage of UK gambling laws to back them to win, but that said both Ireland and Wales are garnering a nice 4.00 and given England with England’s new captain Dylan Hartley being prone to over excitement, what’s not to like about those Six Nations odds?
