The defending champion Mathieu Van der Poel has confirmed he is taking part in Elite Euros in Silvelle Italy. He looks ahead to lead a race full of stars, as per 2019 European Cyclocross Championships betting predictions.
The Dutch cyclist Van der Poel has just returned to the cyclocross, the winter cycling that made him an international star at a glance. His 2019 cyclocross debut kicked off at the Superprestige Ruddervoorde in October. The next big challenge will be in Silvelle di Trebaseleghe in Italy on November 10. Over 600 athletes will compete, from 22 nations, in all different categories, including the Men Elite, the main race of the schedule.
Online sportsbook news in Italy has been reporting about the excitement of the cyclocross fans for Van der Poel’s return. He will likely be dominant as per 2019 European Cyclocross Championships betting predictions. However, the race will be a tough one as both Belgium’s Iserbyt and Britain’s youngster Pidcock are eyeing on the prize.
Van der Poel won Elite Euros in 2017 and 2018
The reigning world champion is ready to restart with cyclo-cross, after spending his 2019 season competing on road and mountain bike events. When we last saw Van der Poel racing cyclocross, he was winning 32 of the 34 races. He achieved a record of 26 victories in a row, including the Bogense World Championships.
The last two editions of the European Champions in Cyclo-Cross have been dominated by Van der Poel. Thus, he is going to race in Silvelle as the top favorite, according to the 2019 European cyclocross Championships betting predictions. His odds value 1.22 for yes and 3.75 for no at Unibet Sportsbook to win the Elite Euros in Silvelle.
Iserbyt and Pidcock main rivals to Van der Poel
Online sportsbooks in Italy expect the main rivals for Van der Poel to be Eli Iserbyt from Belgium and Tom Pidcock from Britain. When Van der Poel was away from cyclocross, Iserbyt emerged as the most successful rider. He was the man of the hour, winning all three World Cup events. Iserbyt has been nearly unbeatable so far, capturing six wins overall.
The British youngster Tom Pidcock, 20, is the other strong contender. He has been dominant at both junior and under-23 in Europe. This year he started to compete at the elite level, and he is already making noise. At the Superprestige’s round in Boom, Pidcock finished third, and in Gavere, he finished fourth. He also finished runner-up at Koppenbergcross.
Mathieu Van der Poel has lately stated to CX European Championships web: “I followed carefully the races during the last few weeks. Iserbyt improved a lot than past seasons, he is definitely the man of the hour, but also Pidcock impressed me.”
