Matchday 27 of the Italian league is set to feature many thrilling encounters this weekend.

During last week all the attention was directed towards Champions League games which produced fruitful clashes, but now we turn back to the domestic league action. The Serie A will see 20 teams go head to head as they aim to challenge for the top prize at the end of the season, however for now it seems that only 1 team has the capacity to achieve that goal.

Juventus faces a test against Palermo away
Cagliari favorites against Empoli
Genoa will go head to head with Chievo at home
Italian gambling news reports that Palermo will face Juventus at home, which might prove somewhat challenging for the Turin side as they don’t always put on a good show away. Empoli will visit Cagliari, while Atalanta will play Udinese at home in a game that bears some uncertainty. Lastly, Genoa will square off against Chievo on Sunday afternoon.

Palermo vs Juventus and Cagliari vs Empoli

Palermo currently sit in 11th spot with an overall of 35 points from 26 encounters, which isn’t that bad for a team of their ability. They managed to win 7 times while playing at home, however they have also recorded 5 draws and 1 loss. Considering that they’ll be playing against Juventus next game they will probably experience some difficulties to express themselves on their won field, which might lead to a draw.

Palermo-Juventus

The Turin-based side are the prime favorites to lift the title again, which would make it a fourth consecutive championship for them. Although they sit in first position on the table, they haven’t been always convincing while playing away notching 7 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss. So Palermo will be looking to advantage of this, a fact that was also identified by Bet365 by offering odds of 3.40 (12/5) for a tie. A win for the hosts stands at 4.75 (15/4), while for Juventus they are 1.80 (4/5).

Cagliari have so far collected only 40 points from 26 encounters and over the last 5 matches they lost 4 times and tied once. It is fair to say that online sportsbooks in Italy do not hold them in high regard due to their disappointing performances. At home they also have an uncertain record (2 wins, 3 draws and 8 losses), however Bet365 assigned them favorable chances 2.40 (7/5) against upcoming opponents Empoli at home.

Cagliari-Empoli

The visiting side on the other hand have been dealt limited chances 3.00 (2/1), despite the fact that they sit 5 places above Cagliari. So far this season they have secured 29 points which granted them 13th spot in the league. Their form is slightly better with 2 wins and 3 draws, however on the road they recorded many ties, a total of 8. For this reason, a draw 3.30 (23/10) between the two may be the most likely event for the game.

Atalanta vs Udinese and Genoa vs Chievo

Atalanta will square off against Udinese on Sunday afternoon where they will aim to capture the all-important 3 points. For the clash the hosts have been given favorite status 2.40 (7/5), however their home results are not very commendable (3 wins, 4 draws and 5 losses). Their form at home has also been quite concerning as they tied twice before recording a win and then suffering 2 losses recently.

Atalanta-Udinese

Udinese have performed slightly better as they sit in 12th position with 31 points, however their overall form has also been pretty bad in recent times. They lost 3 times over the last 5 encounters, which has propelled Bet365 to give them unfavorable odds 3.20 (11/5). A draw between the two for the match stands at 3.10 (21/10), an event that is also likely for this sort of a game.

Genoa stand in 7th place and they are doing everything within their means to break into the top places on the table. They have so far accumulated a total of 37 points from 25 encounters, which means that they have an extra game in hand to play for and win 3 important points. Their form has seen them clinch 3 draws and 2 wins in the last 5 matches, so Bet365 has identified them as favorites 1.91 (10/11).

Genoa-Chievo

Chievo Verona find themselves in 16th spot with 26 points with a form being quite uncertain (2 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws). At home they suffered some very disappointing results (2 wins, 6 draws and 6 losses), and this next game does not swing in their favor. Mobile betting sites have given them odds of 4.33 (10/3), while a draw between them stands at 3.40 (12/5).
