The FIFA U20 World Cup was founded in 1977 and has been organized every second year ever since. This year, the host country is going to be Poland. The current champions are England, but they haven’t managed to qualify this time. Since it’s an “U20” tournament, only footballers below the age of 20 are eligible to play. Over 100,000 tickets are already sold for the U20 World Cup. However, it’s not just the fans who are buzzing about this event. Scouts from all around the world are going to attend to try and discover some exciting young talents. Just take a look at some of the former U20 World Cup Golden Ball winners. Paul Pogba, Sergio Agüero, Lionel Messi… It’s going to be really exciting to see who could take their places in the future. The tournament begins on 23 May, the final takes place on 15 June. 24 teams managed to qualify. That includes 4 nations from each continent, except Oceania (2 teams) and Europe (6 teams). It’s not going to be easy to predict which team’s captain is going to lift the World Cup trophy at the end. However, we’ve done our research and made our own 2019 U20 World Cup winner predictions.

The French youngsters could go home with another World Cup trophy

Online sportsbook sites in Poland believe that France U20 are the favorites to win the U20 World Cup. The Bleuets were champions in 2013, and now they could go all the way again with a pretty decent squad. For instance, there’s Mickaël Cuisance to pay attention to. France U20’s most capped player already has 33 appearances for Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. There’s also Moussa Diaby who played for PSG in 20 matches this season so far. He’s definitely worthy of your attention and if he’ll continue working the way he does he could be France’s new star in the future. With other key players, like Barcelona’s Todibo, these young lads could definitely win a World Cup for their nation, just like the seniors did last year.

Argentina U20 have been more successful than their senior team

Bet365 believes that Argentina could also be there in the final by the end of the tournament. It’s no surprise. The South-American country has won the most U20 World Cups in history (6). This record makes it even more interesting that they haven’t won a World Cup with their “adult” players for 33 years now. A recent (half-)success was that Argentina was the runner up in the South American U20 Championship this year. Their captain, Nehuén Pérez could be a key figure in the team. He’s only 18 years old, but he’s already contracted to Atletico Madrid, though he’s yet to make his first performance for the club. Who knows, maybe with his leadership Argentina’s youngsters are going to be more successful than the seniors have been.

Our 2019 U20 World Cup winner predictions show that Portugal could make it in the final

As we’re going through our 2019 U20 World Cup Winner Predictions we must talk about Portugal. While their senior team has never won a World Cup, their youngsters have been a bit more successful. The U20s have two titles from 1989 and 1991. The Portuguese U20s have had some decent results lately. They’ve managed to finished 2nd at the European Elite League U20. At the World Cup, their key man could be Pedro Correira, who scored 3 goals during these 7 matches. Bet365 expects a lot from him and his teammates, as Portugal is up there among the favorites with France and Argentina.
