The Styrian Grand Prix, which wasn’t, alas, a street race around Damascus, was a pretty dull affair. However, in the dying moments the young driver at McLaren, caught some drivers napping. His storming into fifth place at the finish leaves him third in the drivers championship. This means the 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix odds on Lando Norris could well be worth a look. We check out what the online sportsbook sites in Hungary are offering going into the next race weekend.

If we’re honest about it, the Styrian Grand Prix had the whiff of a parade about it after the opening laps. By then the Ferraris had dealt with each other out of contention and the rest of the field was strung-out around the Red Bull Ring. It appeared very little would change, and for the leaders, that’s pretty much true. However, in the dying laps of a dull race, one man decided to go for broke. That’s why the 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix odds on Lando Norris are so short.

Well I say short. I think ‘shorter’ might be a little kinder. It’s not as if there are crazy online betting sites in Hungary placing him as favorite. Mercedes still have this sport by the scruff of it’s neck. No, it’s more that the 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix odds on Lando Norris are no longer astronomically long. Indeed, there seems to have been a wholesale reassessment of how these races might go by the bookies. Possibly brought on by those last couple of laps in Spielberg.

Bet365 Has All The Best Motorsport Odds Available

The 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix odds on Lando Norris reflect that he surged by three cars in the last laps. He demonstrated a hunger and ability to keep his head that will serve him well later in his career. Just what he might do in a slightly speedier car is anyone’s guess, but the skills are there. Lando is now in third place behind the Mercedes duo in the drivers championship. Another couple of good results and he’ll cement his “best of the rest” status. Much to Verstappen’s irritation.

Hungarian Grand Prix 2020

  • Daniel Ricciardo – 100/1
  • Lance Stroll – 50/1
  • Sebastian Vettel – 50/1
  • Charles Leclerc – 40/1
  • Lando Norris – 33/1
  • Carlos Sainz – 33/1
  • Sergio Perez – 33/1
  • Alexander Albon – 25/1
  • Max Verstappen – 4/1
  • Valtteri Bottas – 3/1
  • Lewis Hamilton – 4/6

Norris has signed up to stay at McLaren in 2021, given his performances so far this year, that’ll be interesting. Red Bull, and Ferrari if they don’t pull their finger out, could find themselves under threat. Mercedes, probably won’t. The 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix odds on Lando Norris are very complimentary. They just shouldn’t tempt you into a bet on Norris to win. Those who regularly bet on sports in Hungary, and bet on F1 in particular, know better than to do that.

2020 Hungarian Grand Prix Odds On Lando Norris Just 33/1

The 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix odds on Lando Norris sit at around 33/1. That’s perhaps the best they’ll be this year. For comparison, and to put it in perspective, Perez and Sainz get the same. Having watched the Ferraris collide the bookies like Bet365 are being more circumspect. Vettel gets a scant 50/1 and Leclerc 40/1. That’s astonishingly bad odds on Ferrari. The odds on Red Bull are far more what you would expect, however. Verstappen gets 4/1 and a fair Albon 25/1.

Driver’s Championship Odds

  • Anyone Else – 200/1+
  • Alexander Albon – 150/1
  • Charles Leclerc – 50/1
  • Max Verstappen – 11/1
  • Valtteri Bottas – 10/3
  • Lewis Hamilton – 2/7

Albon is yet to settle in. He might not have long to do so. The odds on Mercedes demonstrate their dominance. The 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix odds on Lando Norris may be shorter, but they’re nothing compared to 3/1 on Bottas. Bottas currently leads the world championship, but Lewis is 4/6 to take victory on the Hungaroring. So realistically if you’re going to take advantage of Hungarian gambling laws this weekend, it’ll probably be best if you bet on the silver arrows.
