Primoz Roglic can win his third race in a 7-day period this Saturday, on the 9th of October at the Il Lombardia. The last major event of the 2021 UCI World Tour season can bring lots of excitement. As we can also find Remco Evenepoel, Tadej Pogacar and Julien Alaphilippe in the starting list. Any of them can win the race but the 2021 Il Lombardia winner odds expect Roglic to finish on top again.

The last one of the five Monuments in the season, the Giro di Lombardia or with its official name, the Il Lombardia is one of the most prestigious one-day races. The first edition was held in 1905 and the event has been organized ever since. It contains the famous climb of Madonna del Ghisallo in its 239km course and a 200m section of cobbles close to the end of the race. The last main event of this year’s World Tour will start from Como and finish in Bergamo. Where some of the best cyclists will fight for the win. Like 3-time Vuelta winner Primoz Roglic, 2-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar and the 2-time road race world champion, Julian Alaphilippe. Last year’s winner, Jakob Fuglsang won’t compete this time but we can still find several previous race winners in the field. Including Vincenzo Nibali, Thibaut Pinot and Dan Martin.

Roglic lead the 2021 Il Lombardia Winner Odds

Primoz Roglic had an unbelievable season so far. He won the time trial gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics.  And then the 2021 Vuelta a Espana for the third consecutive year. The Slovenian also won the Tour of the Basque Country in April. And now two one-day races. First the Giro dell’Emilia and four days later the Milan-Torino. Winning the latter with such ease that online sportsbooks in Italy offer the smallest odds, 3.00 for his victory at Il Lombardia as well. Probably his main rivals hope that even Roglic can get tired at one point. Plus this race won’t end uphill, though he is also good in descents.

The other Slovenian, Tadej Pogacar, will also have a good chance of winning in this course. The 23-year-old rider successfully defended his title at this year’s Tour de France besides winning three more one-week races. Pogacar also won the bronze medal in the road race at the Olympics. And finished fifth in the European Road Championships. He got one Momentum win after finishing on top at the 2021 Liege-Bastogne-Liege. With a victory here he can be the first man to win this race and the Tour de France in the same year since Bernard Hinault did it in 1979. Pogacar’s odds to do so are 6.50 in the 2021 Il Lombardia winner odds.

QuickStep riders, Adam Yates and Nibali Can All Win

Remco Evenepoel will ride alongside the two-time world champion, Julian Alaphilippe and Joao Almeida in the QuickStep team. The young Belgian is one of the biggest talents of the sport who suffered a fractured pelvis in last year’s Il Lombardia. He could only return this spring but already got wins at the Tour of Belgium, Danmark Rundt and smaller one-day races. But Evenepoel’s performance at the Road World Championships was criticized by other Belgian cyclists. Now he can either support Alaphilippe or just ride for himself and for another victory. Online gambling sites in Italy offer the odds of 5.25 for Evenepoel. His teammates, Almeida and Alaphilippe competed in the Milan-Torino this week. But the French world champion couldn’t keep pace with Roglic unlike Almeida.  Now their odds to get the win are 12.00 and 13.00

Ineos rider Adam Yates can also ride for the win this weekend. He was close to Roglic in Milan-Torino and finished second behind him. The British cyclist won this year’s Volta a Catalunya and was second in the 2021 UAE Tour behind Pogacar. His odds to finish ahead of everyone now are 15.00. Being in Italy, we also have to mention Vincenzo Nibali in the favorites. He has won this race twice so far, in 2015 and in 2017, while he finished sixth last year. Nibali got his only race win in the Giro di Sicilia last week which might motivate him for another great result. His odds to win again are 29.00 on bet365.
