Independent Spirit Awards Best Picture odd – “The Lost Daughter” To Win

This Netflix original movie seems to have really high odds, not just at the Independent Spirit Awards but at the others too. For example the lead actress, Olivia Colman has rather nice odds to win at the Academy Awards too. That would be no surprise thinking about how she already win the award a few years ago. In this movie, she plays the main role, Leda. The whole plot focuses on her. It’s kind of a psychodrama, with her trying to figure out her past and her current situation. She is middle aged woman who visits Greece for a vacation.

Even though it seems at first like a nice romantic vacation, we soon realize that Leda has some serious issues in her past, which it can’t overcome. So the movie is basically it. We get some flashbacks and she forms a strong friendship with a woman called Nina. So the story is very complex and interesting at the same time, and Colman’s acting just makes it superb. The movie already got acclamations and already won the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. So why wouldn’t it win the Independent Spirit Awards? According to online sportsbooks in the US it has its winning odds 1.37. With that, it’s absolutely the frontrunner and has the highest odds right now.

Can “C’mon C’mon” Win The Award?

Next in the line we have “C’mon C’mon”. According to 22BET Sportsbook, it has the second-highest chance to win with winning odds at 3.74. The movie is directed by Mike Mills, and it’s kind of an American drama. With Mill’s previous works, we can say he loves to focus on stories of people in our everyday life. It’s not different in “C’mon c’mon” as the story is about Johnny and Viv, a brother and sister. They are not on talking terms but after a call, Johnny realizes that Viv needs help with her mentally ill husband. That’s when the story gets interesting and complex.

Then Johnny meets Jesse, his nephew and they become close friends. The movie shows different family connections, and what problems we all have, and how we try to get over them. It’s simply beautiful to watch and with Joaquin Phoenix’s and Woody Norman’s acting, it’s just getting better. Since it1s release at the Telluride Film Festival on September 2, it got critical acclaim. It has already won several awards, like the San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle’sBest Original Screenplay. All in all it has rather good odds to win the Independent Spirit Awards Best Picture too.

“Zola” Has Good Chance At The Independent Spirit Awards Best Picture Odds 10.00

“Zola” is one of the hot topics in the movie industry right now. It tells the story of a stripper, Aziah “Zola” King. The movie is based on a Twitter thread by Zola in 2015 and the Rolling Stone article that followed it “Zola Tells All: The Real Story Behind the Greatest Stripper Saga Ever Tweeted”. Zola is a waitress and a half-time stripper at the beginning of the story. She meets Stefani a fellow stripper and the two form a friendship quickly.

It’s all nice until Stefani makes them take a road trip and gets Zola into trouble. On the road trip, they take X, Stefanis’s roommate, and her boyfriend Derrek. The story tells how much trouble Zola gets into without her wish and how then she tells her story to everyone. “Zola” got very good critical acclaim and got nominations for many awards. So far it won 2 awards and has been nominated for the other 7. According to online sportsbooks in the US the movie has its winning odds at 10.00.

“The Novice” To Win Best Picture

If you are look around, you will find that “The Novice” also has nice chances. Right now the movie has its winning odds at 17.00. With that, it’s the fourth most probable winner of the Independent Spirit Awards Best Picture. It’s the debut movie of Lauren Hadaway. It’s sensitive, powerful, and amazing. The movie focuses on a freshman who joins her university’s rowing team. As time goes on she becomes physically and psychologically obsessed.

The main character, Alex Dall is played by Isabelle Fuhrman. Her performance is what makes the movie extra. She plays the role perfectly as her character pushes herself to the breaking point in pursuit of being the best athlete. It won’t make you want to go out and follow her example of destroying her body and mind in the name of athletic glory, but it will make you wonder why she does it. It’s really a life-changing movie and we wouldn’t be surprised to see it win the Best Picture award.

Can the Italian “A Chiara” Be the Best Picture?

Talking about the Independent Spirit Awards Best Picture Odds we must talk about “A Chiara”. It’s an Italian drama directed by Jonas Carpignnano. It’s his third movie in a film trilogy set in a Calabrian town. The plot starts with the 18th birthday celebration of the Guerrasio family’s oldest daughter. They gather together with friends to celebrate together. Then late at night, a car explodes on their street and the father disappears.

That is the point where the plot gets interesting. And that’s also the point where Chiara gets the spotlight, who is the youngest daughter of the family. She is the one who discovers the family’s connection to the mafia and the criminal underworld. The movie had it’s debut at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and won the Europa Cinemas Label for Best European Film there. It also got very good reviews from everywhere and it’s the best Italian movie from 2021. According to 22BET Sportsbook it has its winning odds at 21.00.
