Assembly Unlikely to Pass New York Online Poker Bill

Online poker bill in New York Assembly

Yesterday the New York online poker bill was passed by the Senate, however, it’s unlikely to become law, as Assemblyman Gary Pretlow declared it dead.

As we yesterday reported, the New York state senate has passed bill S05302, that would legalize online poker in the state. The bill’s future is now up to the Assembly Racing and Wagering Committee. However, the bill is unlike to be signed into law, as Assembly chairman Gary Pretlow declared it dead.

Not enough votes to pass the New York online poker bill

Pretlow’s standpoint was confirmed by various US gambling news, but the underlying reasons are unclear. According to NewYorkUpstate.com, Pretlow told reporters that “there’s not enough votes in the Assembly to pass the measure.” At this moment, the New York online poker bill’s future is uncertain.
