  • Quique Setien might leave Barcelona in the summer
  • Ex-Barcelona player Xavi Hernandez can take his job
  • River Plate’s manager Marcelo Gallardo is also in the favorites

Even though Barcelona’s current manager, Quique Setien has only been in his position since this January, rumors have already started off his possible sacking. The team is not doing so great under his management and lost 3 games out of 12. So bet on Barcelona’s new manager, we show you the favorites.

Quique Setien has been working for several other Spanish clubs before joining Barcelona. Including Racing Santander, where he was a player before.  He led his last club, Betis to the 6th place in La Liga in the 2017-18 season. He also reached the group stage of the UEFA Europa League with the team. But the 61-year-old coach left them last summer and was out of work until his appointment this year. It was a small surprise that Setien took over Barca, as he didn’t have experience with managing such a big job, but the club owners were sure about his capabilities.

Bet on Barcelona’s new manager who could be ex-Barca player

Barcelona lost three games under Setien’s management, including a Spanish Super Cup game against Atletico Madrid and the El Classico against Real Madrid.  Though they are still leading La Liga 2 points ahead of Real, unsatisfied voices are getting louder and louder. Setien has a contract until the end of 2022, according to online sportsbook news in Spain it can be terminated at the end of each season. Which would give a great chance for ex-Barcelona player and real club legend Xavi Hernandez to take over the club in the summer.

Who’s gonna be the next manager?

Xavi played more than 700 games for Barcelona, which is a club record, winning eight La Liga and four Champions League titles. He was loved by the fans and his teammates, and would be welcomed back gladly as their new coach. Currently, he is the manager of Qatari club Al Sadd, where he finished his professional career last year. Even though he doesn’t have too much coaching experience, he is still the favorite to become Barcelona’s new manager with the odds of 2.71 at 1xBet.

Other options include a successful Argentine manager

Online gambling sites in Spain are considering Marcelo Gallardo as a likely option with the odds of 5.00. The Argentine ex-footballer has been the manager of the Argentine side River Plate since 2014. He won the Copa Sudamericana with the team in his first season, beating big rival Boca Juniors in the semi-final. River Plate also won two Copa Libertadores and the Argentine Cup three times. The club has reached its greatest successes under Gallardo. But he hasn’t worked as a manager in Europe yet, which might be useful to get the job. Though he was in Monaco and PSG as a player before.

Chances of previous managers’ return

If you want to bet on Barcelona’s new manager, you have to take into account the chances of the returns of previous managers. Like Pep Guardiola, who won 14 trophies with the club, including three La Liga and two Champions League titles. But now he is a similarly successful manager of Manchester City. It doesn’t look very likely that he would leave them at the end of the season. Guardiola’s odds to be the next Barca manager is only 34.00 at 1xBet.

The other popular manager of Barca, Luis Enrique’s return has slightly better odds, 17.00. He also reached great success with the club, but currently, he is the manager of the Spanish national team. A job that not many people would leave even to manage Barcelona.
