After hosting the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, Val di Sole will also make its debut in the Cyclo-cross calendar this weekend. It will host the elite women’s and men’s races on Sunday, 12th of December. All athletes must prepare themselves for the snowy conditions in the Italian Alps. Still, several top cyclists will compete in both events. From last season’s overall winner, Wout Van Aert, to this season’s leader, Ely Iserbyt. But the 2017 Junior World Champion Thomas Pidcock will also compete in his first cyclo-cross race this season.  The four-time world champion Dutch Mathieu van der Poel will miss the event though. In the women’s field, we can also find the sport’s greatest athletes. Including 7-time world champion Marianne Vos who returns back after three missed events.

Cyclo-cross Val di Sole Predictions Favor Van Aert In the Men’s Race

In the absence of his huge rival, Mathieu van der Poel, Belgian top cyclist Wout Van Aert is the biggest favorite to win the race on Sunday. Online sportsbooks in Italy offer the odds of 2.50 for his win. Even though Van Aert has been concentrating on road events this year, he is still a great cyclo-cross cyclist. He won the sport’s world championship three times. The Jumbo-Visma rider competed on his first cyclo-cross event last weekend in Boom, but he will make his first appearance in the 2021/22World Cup in Italy this Sunday.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5oCs9GZWlo&t=13s Just like Thomas Pidcock, who also competes in road and mountain bike as well. But the British cyclist has also got some great results in cyclo-cross. Like winning the Junior World Championship in 2017 or getting the silver medal in the 2020 World Championship. Pidcock hasn’t won any World Cup events though in his career so far. He has the odds of 7.00 to do it now. The current World Cup leader Eli Iserbyt has been in top form so far after winning 5 races in the season. But the snowy terrain can affect his performance too just like racing against his compatriot, Van Aert. In the Cyclo-cross Val di Sole predictions, he has the odds of 11.00 to win anyway.

Vos Can Win The Women’s Race In The Absence of Brand

Lucinda Brand leads the overall standing in the women’s World Cup, but her name is not on the starting list at Val di Sole. In her absence another top Dutch cyclist, Marianne Vos has the smallest odds to get the win with 3.24. The legend of the sport has won the first two races but missed the next ones. She will resume her cyclo-cross season this weekend where she has a great chance of winning. But her compatriots can all go for the victory.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9jwocQao14 Like Denise Betsema, who won one race this season and finished three more times on the podium. At the moment she is in second place in the overall standing, 19 points behind Brand. Online gambling sites in Italy offer the odds of 5.50 for her victory. Still staying with Dutch riders, we can find Puck Pieterse who has similar chances. The 19-year-old cyclist is a huge talent with great results this season. As she finished as a runner-up in the last two races. If she can handle the tricky conditions, Pieterse can get her first win now with the odds of 5.00 to do so.
