A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for Egg Boy’s legal fees. More than $80,000 have been raised so far, with more than 3350 people donating. The Egg Boy says he will give the money to the victims of the New Zealand mosque shooting.

People have nominated Egg Boy for Australian of the Year

More than 400,000 people are now following Connolly’s Instagram account. #Eggboy was the number one trending in Egypt on March 16 and 17. Connolly has become a social media hero and many have unofficially appointed him as the next Australian of the Year. Some have posted screenshots of nominations filled out for Connolly. Newshub contacted the organizers of Australian of the Year, but they declined to comment. Calling Connolly to be given the accolade is just a gesture of support.
