  • Twelve teams will compete for the right to advance
  • What are the early-bird predictions for the playoff stage?

Only three Euro 2024 spots are left to occupy, and it will be decided among 12 teams who failed to qualify from the Qualifiers. As of now, all the paths are set and we know all the competitors to play against each other in March, so let’s take a look at the Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs predictions. According to the new rules, the best UEFA Nations League who did not qualify directly for the European Championship will participate in the playoffs. There will be three paths containing four teams each.

Euro 2024 Qualifying Playoffs: Teams and Paths

Twelve countries didn’t manage to qualify for Euro 2024 directly. They are Poland, Estonia, Wales, Ukraine, Israel, Finland, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Greece, Luxembourg, Iceland, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All the one-on-one matches are scheduled for March 21, with the finals taking place on March 26, 2024. Although it’s too early for online sportsbooks in Poland to reveal the odds, we decided to predict the outcomes ourselves.

Path A (Poland v Estonia, Wales v Finland)

A tough but predictable Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs branch includes Poland v Estonia and Wales v Finland. Poland is the favorite since they play in League A of the UEFA Nations League and Estonia, who have never played at any Euro, come from League D – the weakest one. It means the odds will definitely be in Poles’ favor when they come out at 20Bet.

Wales against Finland is also a relatively obvious pair of rivals. Wales are more likely to advance to the final as they underwent a huge restructure after their extraordinary run at Euro 2016. Now, they are doing really well. Finland’s first and only appearance at Euro was in 2020, and they did fine for a team that had never played there.

If Poland meets Wales in the finals, the outcome is hard to predict. We think Wales has a slight edge over the Poles regardless of Lewandowski’s presence.

Path B (Ukraine v Bosnia, Israel v Iceland)

Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs’ Path B includes games Israel v Iceland and Bosnia and Herzegovina v Ukraine. The first game can go anywhere and is extremely difficult to predict. Israel has never played at Euro and Iceland are not the same team that once played at Euro 2016, so their odds can be even at online gambling sites in Poland.

The Ukraine v Bosnia match outcome is slightly easier to predict, and we think it will be Ukraine. They played very well in a tough group with England and Italy and virtually were doomed not to advance directly with only two spots to take. Regardless of who Ukrainians meet in the final game, we think that they will advance all the way to the Euro group stage either way.

Path C (Georgia v Luxembourg, Greece v Kazakhstan)

This one is the most interesting branch. Georgia v Luxembourg are the two teams who have never played at the European Championship. Luxembourg, who became a revelation this year during the Qualifiers managed to get mighty five wins which is more than any of their previous Qualifier runs combined!

Greece and Kazakhstan are also difficult to predict, although the Greeks are famous for their historical Euro 2004 victory. This entire branch is unpredictable but if we had to name its winner it would be Greece based on their Qualifier run and the fact that they have played at Euro multiple times.
