We all like to bet on famous people, their successes, their failures, and so we take a look at some of the outside chances for the year ahead.

So, 2020 was a tad unpredictable. Alas, 2021 is likely to continue the trend. So as well as your regular bet on sports in the UK and elsewhere next year, you should also bet on the unusual. The unlikely. The bizarre. So this may all seem a little fanciful, but remember, online bookies in the UK are only too ready to offer odds on reality TV shows, the horrific Eurovision Song Contest, American Politics. So, get ready to bet on famous people doing inexplicable things at a moment’s notice. Here’s just seven of the infinite possibilities that await us.

1. Donald Trump Coverts To Islam

You can’t bet on famous people without a punt on the former US President. The odds on this one are probably not as high as you might imagine. Donald Trump doesn’t tend to (ever) conform to expectations. So why not a radical change of religious inclination? It’s the sort of thing you might imagine his legal defense team suggesting as a way of avoiding prosecution. It’s ineffective, illogical and lacking any legal merit, so quite in keeping with their advice to him thus far really.

2. Vladimir Putin Joins The PGA Tour

So, if you like the idea of a bet on famous people doing unusual things, this could be for you. With the Russian President/Prime Minister (delete as applicable) thinking of retiring, this may actually happen. So, sure, it might seem insane, but think about it. You may actually need to take advantage of UK gambling laws to back the wily old KGB officer at Bet365. He really could join the PGA Tour. After all, can you imagine a better way for him to troll Donald Trump more?

3. Elon Musk Puts A Pig On The Moon

This is by no means as unlikely as it at first appears. It’s almost inevitable. Now you’ve thought about it you can’t actually envision a universe in which he doesn’t anymore, can you? It’s just the sort of thing he’d do. Remember the Hyperloop? Cybertruck? Flamethrower? So, question is; Will he get around to it in 2021? He does have other irons in the fire. Not that this will stop him. Usually you can just bet on famous people to be a bit odd, but Elon Musk is just outright strange.

4. Sheldon Adelson Opens Casino In Mecca

So having pulled out of Las Vegas the aging casino magnate will need some new locations to open his pleasure palaces. The Middle East is almost virgin territory for the gaming industry and Sheldon is a pathfinder. A trendsetter. A leader in the field. Oh and a bit nuts. So sure, as a bet on famous people, it’s not the most glamourous, but it is the most unlikely. Online sportsbook sites in the UK like Bet365 simply can’t list odds this lengthy. The internet simply isn’t big enough.

5. Katy Perry Wins Nobel Prize For Literature

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA oh god HA HA HA I think I’m going to puke HA HA HA HA HA HA too funny. HA HA HA HA. No really. Seriously now. Stop it. It’s not that funny. Well okay, it is. But we’re supposed to be telling people about how to bet on famous people doing crazy things, not laughing at Katy Perry…..HA HA HA HA prize HA HA HA HA HA…literature……Oh man…...Someone get me a defibrillator…HA HA HA HA HA.

6. Boris Johnson Assassinated By Queen Elizabeth II

She looks ready to snap. So any moment now she could reveal she carries a blade in that handbag of hers. There’s always been rumours. So if Brexit goes too badly the chances of her just letting rip and stabbing Boris are quite good. I mean, he is her Prime Minister, she’s technically allowed to do whatever she likes with him. Never know. So Boris could be the first British Prime Minister to die in a rather nasty knighting accident. After that she’ll probably mince and feed him to her corgis.

7. Jacinda Ardern Announces New Zealand As Nuclear Power

So, this is perhaps the most radical bet on famous people for 2021. It’s way on the outside of possibility, however, by no means impossible. Demonstrably better at running nations than anyone else at the moment, Jacinda might just decide to invade the rest of the world to save us all from ourselves. So, for that, she’ll need to have the backing of the ultimate weapon system. A kiwi bomb. So, hit up online betting sites in the UK like Bet365 to….oh they don’t? Shame.
