One of the biggest surprises in European football would be Lille’s tile win in France. But the race is still very tight there. PSG are only one point behind them, while Monaco are in third place, just a point ahead of Lyon. In the Ligue 1 title race predictions we take a look for all top teams’ chances and odds to win the trophy.

The French top tier football, Ligue 1 is usually not in the focus of football fans. It is usually ranked behind the English, German, Spanish and Italian leagues. But this season we can watch one of the most exciting season finales here with four teams still having a chance to win the title. Which was won seven times in the last eight years by Paris Saint-Germain. The Parisians were the biggest favorites at the beginning of the 2020-21 season as well. But the team has been struggling in the domestic league this year in spite of playing well in the Champions League. Their manager, Thomas Tuchel was sacked at the end of 2020 and soon replaced by Mauricio Pochettino. Since then PSG seems to have found their form, but still suffered some unexpected losses. And probably a crucial one against the current leaders, Lille last month.

PSG have won four titles in a row when Monaco managed to stop them in the 2016-17 season. Then came another three Ligue 1 titles and reaching the final of the 2020 Champions League. But this season the team wasn’t as convincing as before and lost four games until December. Which also meant the dismissal of Tuchel and the arrival of Pochettino. The Argentine manager led his team to victory in the Trophee de Champions against Marseille. And to the semi-finals in the Champions League after knocking out FC Barcelona and defending champions Bayern Munich.

But at home PSG are still not performing its best. They are in second place but only a single point behind Lille. So online sportsbooks in France offer the smallest odds, 1.61 for their title win. Which can easily happen as they seem to have the easiest last three games. But Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and the others will also have another big task this week in the second leg of their semi-final against Manchester City. Their busy schedule can actually help Lille, who will do everything to keep their lead.

Lille’s chance to win the title

Lille won their last title in 2011 but also finished as a runner-up in the 2018-19 season. Now Christophe Galtier’s team has a real chance to win again with the odds of 2.20 in the Ligue 1 title race predictions. They have been leading the league since February and managed to keep their small advantage until now. Thanks to the great performances of key players like Burak Yilmaz, Jonathan David and Jose Fonte. And crucial wins against their big rivals, PSG, Monaco and Lyon last weekend.

Whose chances seem to be over with only three rounds left from the season. Lyon are only 4th place, six points behind the leaders. Which would also mean missing out from the Champions League next season. Rudi Garcia’s team can still catch Monaco though, who are just one point ahead of them in third place. Especially after defeating them on Sunday 3-2 in a game full of tension. And with the winning goal being scored by substitute Rayan Cherki in the 89th minute. The loss was a huge blow for Monaco who have the odds of 81.00 to win the title by online gambling sites in France. Now the team of Niko Kovac must concentrate on their last three games if they want to keep their third place and play in the Champions League next season.
