Bet on Alt-J - Relaxer to win the Mercury Prize in 2017

Will Alt-J’s newest release, Relaxer win the band’s second Mercury Prize? The album received lukewarm response from critics. Though the 65 metascore translates to a “generally favorable” consensus, mixed reviews outnumber the positive ones. NME’s critic, Hannah Jane Parkinson found Alt-J’s Relaxer a “great album, if not entirely relaxing,” while Consequence of Sound concluded that band sacrificed the album’s “sense of cohesion” for the sake of experimentation. Bet on Glass Animals - How to be a Human Being to win the Mercury Prize in 2017

”Nobody else sounds like them right now,” declared Mixmag’s critic. The album received a 73/100 rating, which is even more impressive when you realize that it has no negative reviews. Vocalist, Dave Bayley recommends us to listen the album in full as its “ebb and flow”  is what makes it really work. From the other end of the spectrum, Q Magazine found ‘How to Be a Human Being’ to be well-constructed but soulless. Listen to the song ‘Youth’ and decide whether Glass Animals will take your bet on the Mercury Prize Winner of 2017.
