  • 2021 NASCAR Cup Series starts this week with Busch Clash in Daytona
  • The race is only an exhibition event with only 21 drivers taking part in it
  • 2020 series winner Chase Elliott is the favorite ahead of Martin Truex Jr.

The 2021 NASCAR season will kick-off this week, with the first competitive event being held on the 9th of February in Daytona. Only invited drivers can take part in the race who can meet the strict criteria. Like current NASCAR Cup series champion Chase Elliott who is the favorite in the NASCAR Busch Clash winner odds.

The Busch Clash is an invitation-only event where a limited number of drivers can race who also meet the strict criteria system. Which means they either won this race or the Daytona 500 earlier or have won a pole, a race or a stage in the 2020 NASCAR Cup series. Last season’s playoff drivers can also take part in the event. The race is held at Daytona International Speedway Road Course over 35 laps, around 200km. This is half of the distance of the first Grand Prix of the 2021 season, the Daytona 500 race.

Busch Clash is not part of the NASCAR Cup Series and drivers can’t win any points here. It is still a great event though with a large prize fund. From the 2021 entry list both Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin have won the race three times so far. While Erik Jones is last year’s winner. But it would be a huge surprise if he could win again, let’s see the biggest favorites for the victory this time.

NASCAR Busch Clash winner odds favor Elliott to win

Online sportsbooks in the US offer the smallest odds, +175 for the victory of last year’s series winner, Chase Elliott. He won his first title after a great finish and can continue in the same style now. Elliott has won five road races out of 12 last season which makes him the biggest favorite. Even though his best results in this event are 7th-place finishes so far he can definitely get a much better result now.

Futam, Versenyzés, Autók, Járművek, Nascar

Just like Martin Truex Jr. who has the odds of +325 in the NASCAR Busch Clash winner odds. Truex finished only seventh in the series last season with only one race victory. But he drives well in the road events. He is the last driver to win a road race since the ruling of Elliott. The 2017 Cup series winner usually performs well in Daytona too, but he only finished 16th last year after being in a crash on a late restart. Surely the experienced driver will aim for a better result now. Which can also help to renew his contract with his current team.

Previous race winners are also in the favorites

Kevin Harvick has won the Busch Clash three times before. In 2009, 2010 and 2013 so he knows how to win here. But the 2014 Series winner had a disappointing end of season last year after finishing only in 5th place. It was a poor result after winning the regular season confidently and getting the victory on 9 occasions. So surely Harvick will try to get back to winning even though road race courses are not his strongest points. His odds are still not bad with +1000 on BetOnline.

Online gambling sites in the US offer even better odds, +900 for Denny Hamlin who has also won here three times before. He got his last victory here in 2016. Hamlin finished 6th last year and was the last driver to finish the race. He is also one of the biggest favorites to win the Daytona 500 event which will be held this Sunday. While the winner of the 2020 Busch Clash and Hamlin’s former teammate, Erik Jones has the odds of +3300 to repeat his performance. He survived all accidents and restarts last year to finish ahead of the remaining six cars. But the 24-year-old driver is not likely to have the same luck this time.
