  • 2021 Belgian Rally is held this week, 13-15 August in and around Ypres
  • The event will make its WRC debut this season
  • Belgian Thierry Neuville is the favorite ahead of Ogier and Tanak
The 8th event of this year’s World Rally Championship will be the 2021 Belgian Rally this weekend. Sebastien Ogier leads the overall standings with a significant, 37 points lead. The 2021 Belgian Rally predictions favor Thierry Neuville on home soil though, who can get close to the French champion with a win. Just like the other top drivers, Evans, Tanak, and Rovanpera.  This is the first time that the Belgian Rally, also known as the Ypres Rally appears in the World Rally Championship’s calendar. The event replaces the canceled British Rally for the joy of the Belgian fans. The first race in the country was held back in 1965 and has been one of the most famous rallies in the European Championship. We can find mostly Belgian drivers in the previous winners, but Italian, French, and British drivers could win here as well. Now the top tier of the sport, the WRC will make its debut in West Flanders, covering 295km in competitive distance. Where the 2018 winner, Thierry Neuville will be the biggest favorite ahead of his main rivals.

2021 Belgian Rally Predictions Expect a Tight Race Between Top Riders

Thierry Neuville is currently in third place in the championship, 52 points behind the leader, Sebastien Ogier. He has been very consistent during the season so far. As he finished third on five occasions, retiring only once. But the Hyundai Motorsport driver couldn’t win any race yet in 2021 which might be necessary to finally become champion. Now Neuville will have a great opportunity to get the victory on home soil. He has the advantage of already racing here, making him the biggest favorite. Online sportsbooks in Belgium offer odds of 3.00 for his win. If you already defined your rider just click 22BET Sportsbook and bet.

But Neuville won’t have an easy job against the current leader, the 7-time world champion Sebastien Ogier. In his last season, the French legend still drives amazingly after winning four races out of seven. Even though he only finished fourth in the previous race in Estonia, he can get back to winning in Belgium now. Ogier’s odds to finish on top are 3.50 in the 2021 Belgian Rally predictions. Estonian Ott Tanak has been offered the same odds for a win due to his previous experience in this race. As he and his co-driver, Martin Jarveoja have already competed in this race twice before. Tanak had to retire on the previous race on home soil, so surely he will try everything for a better result this weekend.

Former Race Winner and Young Talent are Also in the Favorites

Ogier’s teammate, Elfyn Evans is currently in second place in the overall standings. 37 points behind the French. Now he can get closer to him with his second win of the season after his victory at Portugal. The Welsh driver hasn’t competed in Belgium yet, so he might face more difficulties than his main rivals. But he can still get the win with the odds of 6.00 to do so. Just like the winner of the previous race, Kalle Rovanpera, who became the youngest WRC winner in Estonia.

The 20-year-old Finish talent is in fourth place in the championship, but with another good result he can get close to the podium. Online gambling sites in Belgium offer the odds of 11.00 for his second consecutive win. While a former winner of the Belgian Rally, Irish Craig Been has slightly better odds to finish on top. The Hyundai driver competes in the European Rally Championship but also takes part in some WRC events. Like in the Estonian Rally last month where he finished as a runner-up. Now Been will aim for his first WRC win with the odds of 10.00 to get it.
