Wyoming gambling laws allow for three tribal casinos, pari-mutuel wagering, and charity raffles by nonprofit organizations.

Wyoming gambling laws

Wyoming might not be the best destination for gamblers but that does not mean that their gaming laws are overly limiting. Wyoming has three casinos, all of them on Native American land. These venues offer class 3 games, which means that players can enjoy blackjack, poker, and even slots. Besides Wyoming casinos, citizens can enjoy social poker games with some limitations.

Wyoming gambling laws can be found in the Wyoming Code, under Crimes and Offenses. Gambling means “risking any property for gain contingent in whole or in part upon lot, chance.” Charity games, such as raffles, pull tabs and bingo, conducted by nonprofit are not considered gambling.

The only legal form sports betting in Wyoming is pari-mutuel wagering on horse races. The quality and integrity of pari-mutuel events is protected by the Pari-Mutuel Commission of Wyoming. Furthermore, they conduct the investigation of applicants for permits. Currently, there are 14 off-track wagering venues and two racetracks in Wyoming.

Online Gambling in Wyoming

Wyoming gambling laws do not explicitly address online gaming. However, the existing laws can be applied to internet gambling as well. It’s better if Wyoming residents avoid internet casinos, even though, we could not find any past precedents of somebody being punished for playing online casino games from the territory of Wyoming.

Lotteries in Wyoming

The Wyoming Lottery, known as WyoLotto, was established in 2013. The tickets went on sale in 2014. Next to the North Dakota lottery, WyoLotto is the only state-lottery that prohibits the sale of scratch tickets and other instant win games. However, the lottery corporation is “conducting marketing research to determine other draw games that may be a good fit for Wyoming.” WyoLotto proceeds go to the Wyoming go to the state treasury and a state fund for education.

Daily Fantasy Sports in Wyoming

Currently, there’s no daily fantasy sports bill in front of Wyoming lawmakers. According to US gambling news, Wyoming legislators will examine the elements of skill and chance involved in paid daily fantasy sports to decide about the games legality.
