The film awards season is heating up with the movies finally releasing and the ceremony dates impending. Some of those award shows have already revealed the nominations, as did the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The committees have finished voting while the bookmakers recently released the odds on the main categories. Let’s briefly explore the 2020 SAG Awards predictions. The 26th annual ceremony is set to take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 17, 2020. Unlike the other shows, this one looks to recognize outstanding performances in both film and television. The actors have the honor bestowed upon them with an “Actor” statue by their fellow actors. Following the announcement of the nominations, the online sportsbook sites in the US launched betting markets on the main categories. Who will succeed this year?

Outstanding performance by a female actor in leading and supporting roles in a motion picture

The film categories this year promise a fierce competition. Hollywood’s elite is back in nominations with some even getting more than one. The American sweetheart Renee Zellweger is up to get only one nod for a leading role in a motion picture. She is not a stranger to this event, having won three accolades before. Another victory, however, will make her the first woman to win three individual SAG Awards for film. According to 1xBET Sportsbook oddsmakers, her reprisal of Judy Garland in “Judy” is enough to make history. The only person to outshine her can be Scarlett Johansson, who had quite an eventful year, working on three projects. The 30-year-old actress went from zero to two career individual SAG Awards nominations in a minute. She earned bids for her lead turn in “Marriage Story” and her supporting part in “Jojo Rabbit”. That means that Johansson is up to win two individual SAG Awards in one night and do it in the film category. Can she win both?  Needless to say, it is much more difficult to do and the 2020 SAG Awards predictions confirm it. Johansson has good chances against Zellweger, as her performance in “Marriage Story” was undoubtedly outstanding. At the point, she leads the race in many award shows with that role, including the Oscars. For the supporting role, her competition includes her “Marriage Story” co-star Laura Dern. The film critics praised her for a memorable and empowering performance. Dern is also an Oscar frontrunner in the same category.

If you thought that the competition was scorching hot in female categories, then you need to check the male ones. Joaquin Phoenix and Adam Driver are set to contest the accolade for the leading role, while Brad Pitt and Joe Pesci bid for the supporting act. Not to mention that Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Al Pacino, and Tom Hanks are also nominated. A Hollywood meteor garden, isn’t it? Joaquin Phoenix hit the online sportsbook news in the US when he was announced to reprise the role of Joker. The filmgoers and critics were hyped to see his interpretation of the scandalous and complicated character. Before the movie would premiere, the bookmakers tipped Joaquin Phoenix to win the Oscar for “Joker”. It seems like he will get more nods than the Academy Award as the film became a huge box office success. On the other hand, Adam Driver’s performance in “Marriage Story” was great as well. He delivered a different range of emotions and showed how his character evolves. He nailed every scene be that rage, frustration, happiness or heartbreak. Thus far, he is the second contender after Phoenix eligible for the lead actor nod with a 2.75 odds rate. It is unusual to see Brad Pitt bidding for a supporting act award, yet he does. He has two nominations this year against such actors as Joe Pesci and Al Pacino. Unlike his “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” co-star, Pitt has a higher chance to swoop an “Actor”.

Outstanding performance by an ensemble in a motion picture

Hardly anyone can dispute the fact, that “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “The Irishman” lead this category. Both Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese went for stellar star-studded casts and now contest all the main categories in award shows. The movies have received four nominations apiece at the upcoming ceremony, which is a reliable precursor to the Oscars. Interestingly enough, both movies are based on true stories. Nevertheless, the Hollywood saga runs as a favorite with a 1.90 odds rate at the 1XBET sportsbook. There's always hype when a new Tarantino movie draws near. However, the anticipation surrounding “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” has been palpable. It could be because the movie tells a story about the Golden era of the biggest film industry. It could also be the fact that it starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, and Kurt Russell. The Irishman is the latest Scorsese hit, starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino. The grandiose collaboration is expected to score in several 2020 Academy Award categories. The 2020 SAG Awards predictions are not well disposed as “The Irishman” ensemble is currently trading at the odds of 4.50.
