Bingo in Finland
Bingo arrived to Finland from Sweden and has enjoyed varying levels of popularity since the first bingo hall opened in Turku’s Kiekko 67 sports club in 1969. As of January 2017, there are around 120 bingo halls in the country that operate 24/7, as well as about 300 others where bingoheads can gather in the evenings.
Currently all gambling in Finland is controlled by the government-run companies. Bingo falls under the jurisdiction of RAY across all of Finland.
Online Bingo in Finland
Online bingo is offered on the websites of RAY, as well as Veikkaus. The bigger of the two in terms of offer is the one run by RAY, offering both single and multi-player 90 ball bingo in several variations. There are announcements that in 2017 the access to foreign bingo sites will be prohibited as new protective measures of the state monopoly are to take place.
