We are confident to say that gambling sponsorship deals in sports leagues are great things and beneficial for every party – we listed the reasons why below. So, it has been a major question why NFL has never had a sponsor like that – until now. But still, with signing agreements as we speak, the National Football League is the last of the major US professional sports to form such a partnership. But you know what they say: better late than never! Anyhow, the first gaming deals in NFL are considered to be a huge thing for both the gambling business and the sports business. Keep on reading to find out about the details on the case!

Gambling and sports partnerships

As mentioned above, sponsorship deals hold several benefits for both brands and sports teams. This is why we can see Betway sponsoring the Miami Open. Or Unibet teaming up with the Swedish Poker Association for their three consecutive championships. But we could mention the 888 Holdings sponsoring the next Portuguese Grand Prix as well. This way, the brands can appear on various platforms. And by that, they can lure many potential customers to their online gambling sites. Also: by supporting prestigious events, they seem much more credible. In the meantime, the supported sports teams or events get whole loads of money that they can use in several ways. To buy better gear, to get better coaching, to create a better setting for an event – the list could be infinite. Basically, this is why the first gaming deals in NFL are so profitable for everyone involved.

The whole gambling and sports business was on the edge about NLF’s announcement. And all the online gambling news sites in the US were all about it as well! They officially stated that they signed their first agreements with three sports betting partners. They are the following: Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings, and FanDuel. This is a huge deal! According to Sports Business Daily, this could worth just under 1 billion dollars over five years! The NFL’s Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President, Renie Anderson said: "As the sports betting landscape has continued to evolve in the United States, we have been thoughtful with our strategy and are excited to announce three partners who share the NFL's vision and goals."

What to expect now?

As the first gaming deals in the NFL kick in, we will witness some effects. Because of the multilayer deals, we will see the three brands using the NFL logo in their marketing. We will also see the league integrating sports betting content into their media platforms. This means the NFL.com and the NFL app as well. However, the NFL already has a deal with Caesars as its official casino. And DraftKings is its daily fantasy sports provider. But the new deal gives more opportunities, especially for FanDuel. That will become a part of pregame programming for all seven regular-season games airing on the NFL’s network. And as NFL and the new partners are preparing, you should also get ready for the upcoming season! As for now, sports betting is legal in more than half of the US’s states, meaning you can use their online platforms to bet freely. Get on online sportsbook sites in the US, like Betway, and place your bets during the upcoming NFL season!
